Tata Metal Lestari has successfully hosted a hybrid Focus Group Discussion (FGD) themed "Collaborative Partnership Through Green Procurement" at Tatalogam Tower. Bringing together participants both in person and online, the event created a space for honest, practical dialogue about one of the most pressing challenges facing the industry today: how to decarbonise not just a single factory, but the entire network of suppliers and partners that a modern steel business depends on.

Considering that the steel sector accounts for 7–8% of global carbon emissions, decarbonizing the supply chain is now a necessity — and it is a goal that cannot be achieved in isolation. The materials, components, and services that flow into steel production each carry their own carbon footprint, which means real progress requires every link in the chain to move in the same direction. Bringing together suppliers and strategic partners, the discussion focused on how collaboration across the value chain can accelerate the transition to greener production, share the cost and knowledge of change, and turn ambitious targets into concrete, day-to-day practice.

A historic moment: the Green Procurement Commitment Charter

The most historic moment of the event was the signing of the Green Procurement Commitment Charter alongside 14 suppliers and strategic partners. Far more than a ceremonial gesture, the charter sets out a shared, written commitment that binds the participants to a common set of sustainability principles. It is a concrete manifestation of our shared determination to:

• Comply with global sustainability standards, so that products remain competitive in the world's most demanding markets
